AME/NAB Steel Outlook Event
March 2019
Our Business Development Manager Leonard Rowe gave a talk on the demand and supply outlook for the steel, iron ore and metallurgical coal sectors. He discussed AME’s views regarding quality discounts and the widening/narrowing of iron ore prices spreads.

The joint NAB/AME event took place in Perth last week and attendees included members from: NAB, Roy Hill, Mount Gibson Iron, Marubeni, Atlas Iron and Sinosteel.

Leonard provided a comprehensive bulks market overview, with an emphasis on the impact of Vale closures on iron ore prices spreads and future steel demand requirements across North America, China and India.

Leonard spoke in detail about the future pipeline of high grade iron ore projects and hard coking coal projects across Australia. These projects will become increasingly important as China and India’s Steel demand continually focuses on future supply from high quality assets.

Finally, Leonard and AME would like to express our personal thanks to NAB for organising and coordinating the Steel Outlook lunch event.
